Keith is one of New England's finest housecall specialist physicians and provides primary- and urgent-care housecalls to the area. The practice is built upon the philosophy that excellent customer service and excellent patient care go together. Keith received his MD from Ohio State University and completed his emergency medicine residency at Michigan State University/Sparrow Hospital. He received his Masters in Public Health at the University of Southern California. He has also lived, studied, and traveled abroad extensively. His travels have taken him through most of sub-Saharan Africa. He continues to return to Zambia, where he volunteers at a bush hospital serving the local community.
Some of his other medical work prior to becoming a housecall specialist includes: caring for the Mambwe District residents at Kamoto Hospital in Jumbe, Zambia; working with Patch Adams and clowning around with him in a local children's hospital; and volunteering at multiple free clinics.
Once you've experienced Keith's medical care, you will understand what true doctoring was meant to be. He provides absolutely the finest medical treatment in the New England area.
Dr. Duke
Duke is a Golden Retriever. Golden Retrievers are regarded as one of the most intelligent and sensitive breeds, and Duke is no exception. He is very friendly, well behaved, affectionate, sensitive to emotions, and absolutely adores children.
Duke has been seeing patients (by request only) for ten years. He offers our patients an extra boost of love and a guaranteed prescription for stress reduction. He's playful and knows how to bring a smile to anyone.
Keith's Philosophy Keith always knew he wanted to be a doctor. His passion for healing evolved from growing up among nature and animals in New Jersey, where he had lots of pets and spent most of his time outside. There he learned from a young age that keeping living things healthy requires extensive preventative care and a holistic approach to body, soul, and environment. He also is honored to call Patch Adams his friend, and acknowledges that Patch's own teachings have greatly influenced Keith's interactions with patients. While classically trained in all the clinical and technological advances of modern medicine, Keith also has a deep appreciation of cultural anthropology, the natural sciences, and philosophy -- all of which he integrates with his medical practice.
Duke's Philosophy Medical studies and field reports show that animals have a comforting, reassuring effect on people. Some of the therapeutic benefits of animal assisted therapy include:
- Decreased anxiety and depression - Reduction of stress - Increased self-esteem - Stronger desire to communicate - Lowered blood pressure - Increased motivation to get well - Decreased need for painkillers in some post-operative patients - Reduced loneliness
